Coney Island in Ausgust

So we deicded to tak the kids out for a weekened excursion yesterday, and went to the NY Aquarium in Coney Island. We bought a membership to the Wildlife Conservation Society back in June before we went to the Bronx zoo, so admission was free, big factor on weekends where cash is tight. A lot of fun was had by all, even the baby, as he for some reason is fascinated by fish.

The jellyfish exhibit was by and large my favorite part of the Aquarium. Sadly, many of the picture I took are fuzzy because you are shooting through such thinck glass, but a general idea is easy to see in the photographs. Seeing them floating there in the water is just so surreal, as they sometimes don’t even seem of this world. I would highly recommend the exhibit ‘Alien Stingers’ as a must make if you have the chance.

After we were done at the Aquarium, we decided to walk the boardwalk some, since Astroland, the amusment park there, and other parts will disappear in the next few years as the land has been bought up and will be developed into luxury condos. It will be a very sad day when such a historic place goes down.
